From the President

Greetings My Brothers and Sisters of The Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention:

God has blessed us again with a season of readiness for the Annual Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention. We give thanks to God for the gracious invitation given us by Reverend Cleveland McFarland and the Saint Peter Missionary Baptist Church of Mobile for their commitment to host the 142nd Annual Session of ASMB Convention. This session is to be held November 9-13, 2009 at the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel located at 64 South Water, Mobile, Alabama (251-438-4000).

Please come praying and prepared to participate in making our theme, "God Can Be Trusted Always" become the mindset of all delegates who attend the convention. We can do this by demonstrating our trust in God through sowing a greater seed through registration, by believing that God will make the 2009 convention the best yet and by praying and praising God for the great work that He is going to do through us. Each church is asked to enroll with the minimum of $200.00. I ask again that you support your wing President in his $25,000.00 portion of the $100,000.00 commitment that I have made to our beloved Selma University.

Thursday, November 12, 2009 is Entertainment NIght, "A Gospel Gala" and Dinner highlighted by a message from our newly elected President of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc., our own, Dr. J. R. Scruggs. Tickets to the "Gospel Gala" are $35.00.

Please come praying and prepared to have a strong convention in all areas, and remember "God Can Be Trusted Always."
